Message From Waste Connections of Tennessee:
"Unfortunately, the roads remain too hazardous to run Monday collection routes. The good news is that warmer weather is on the way.
We can’t wait to get back to what we do best, serving the waste and recycling needs of our community! Our hope is that warmer weather forecasted for Monday afternoon will allow our team to begin collecting on a traditional “holiday schedule” on Tuesday. This means all collections would be delayed one day, with Monday routes starting on Tuesday, and finishing the week with Friday routes being collected on Saturday. Please remember that we are all dealing with packed ice on the road in most residential neighborhoods, so our Tuesday start may be slow depending on how quickly the packed ice melts. Our team is eager to resume service, but we ask for your patience as we resume.
When we resume service, we ask you to keep a couple of things in mind –
1. Please remain patient. We wish that we could take care of everyone immediately, but the reality of the situation is that someone will be collected first, someone will be collected last, and everyone else will fall somewhere in the middle as we work to resume our normal routes.
2. Our team of drivers, mechanics, and customer service representatives will be working long hours to serve your needs. Our drivers will work within what is legally allowed by the Department of Transportation, but they cannot exceed 12 hours of driving per day.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we continue to navigate this highly irregular situation."
